Photographs and comment on Opera Boston's production of Donizetti's Maria Padilla. Critical opinions seemed to be divided as to whether the music and the singing outweighed the problems of the plot, with its nonsensical happy ending, and the rather static production.  Of the main soloists, Adriano Graziani got the most consistent praise, with Barbara Quintiliani, who continues, unfortunately, to have to battle health problems, taking a while to warm up to her best. Reviews can be found at  Seen and Heard International and the Boston Musical Intelligencer .
